Climate
Spring
Weather in March and April can be changeable - on some days warm enough to enjoy the pavement cafes, but on others temperatures can be similar to those of winter. It is however, a good time to visit the city, with floral displays lining the boulevards and the parks.

Summer
Temperatures in July and August can rise to 40 degrees centigrade. The city's open air swimming pools and aqua parks open in June.

Many of the local residents escape the heat of August by leaving Madrid for their vacation. This means that the traffic on the roads is dramatically reduced making this a pleasant month to visit the city.

Autumn
After the dry heat of the summer, Autumn brings rain but also some dry days with very pleasant temperatures.

Winter
Madrid can become very cold, with temperatures falling below 10 degrees centigrade.

The currency of Spain is the Euro.
