Learning Environments
The student chooses the level of individual attention:
be alone with the teacher (Tutorial)
share a lesson with 3 other students (Quatorial)
Lesson types can be combined, for example a student can choose part of the course as Tutorial and part as Quatorial.
Tutorial Lessons
With this option, the teaching programme is based entirely on individual
lessons. This means that the tutor's attention is focused uniquely on one
student, and allows for a perfect match between lesson content and the
learning requirements of the student. Tutorial tuition ensures that
maximum progress is made in a short period of time by allowing the tutor
to devote 100% of his attention to the student.
Quatorial Lessons
Lessons take place in small groups of a maximum of 4 students per teacher.
The Quatorial provides high levels of individual attention within a
small, dynamic learning unit. The reduced number of students means that
the tutor is able to address fully the linguistic needs and objectives of
each participant. The Quatorial is also a highly interactive learning
environment where the emphasis is on communication and information
exchange.
Combination Programmes
The combination approach enables participants to benefit from the
interactive group dynamics of either Quatorial lessons and the
individual attention of a personal tutor in the Tutorial lessons.
Seminars
In addition to Quatorial and Tutorial lessons, your program may include several teacher-led seminar sessions per week. These usually take place in groups of 8-12 students of different levels (reflecting reality) and are designed to promote active expression in English. They focus on a variety of aspects of the language and include, for example, pronunciation, grammar, presentations, role-plays, lectures and debates.
